Today, I turned 27 years old.
If you’re my Facebook friend but we haven’t interacted in 3+ years? Don’t bother congratulating me, because I genuinely don’t care. If you’re with me on the Twitterz, do, because I love Twitter and the people on it. If you’re my reader, congratulate me in the comments if you want. If you don’t want to, no worries: I love you regardless.
Right now, I’m in Rome: away from wifi, close to pasta and prosecco. I’m spending here the weekend with my parents and I couldn’t be happier about that. I love Rome, my parents are two of my absolute favorite people on the planet and hello, Italian food.
But I couldn’t resist writing to you for my birthday. People who I mostly have never seen in my life (or only said hi to, or high-fived once) but people who do make a much bigger impact on me than they might realise.
There will always be a barrier between us, because we don’t really know-know each other, you know? We’re friendly, and in a way we are (Internet) friends. But I don’t know a lot (if anything) about you, and you know only the online version of me — admittedly, real life version is very similar to that but with more actual emotional states than sarcasm and CAPS LOCK RAGE.
And I’ve always appreciated and loved you for reading along and being supportive. What I love about you is that you’re so accepting of me. When I dropped the bomb on you about my break up, not only was I hit by a wave of support, not once did I feel like my privacy was invaded by any of your comments. And when I slipped in that I was already dating someone, you accepted that too. That is rare on the Internet, I realiae that. And I feel very fortunate that my people are those kind of people.
I’d like to take this opportunity to thank you for all of that, with a little gift.
YES YES YES.
After a long tedious editing session and a pizza order, I am happy and proud to announce that the 50 Day Until 2015 Workbook is up for sale!
Last year, I loved doing the 50 Days Until 2014 series so much that I turned the 2015 version into a pretty ebook for a good cause.
CONTENT This ebook is 120+ pages of updated and reworked stories and exercises to entertain and inspire you to make the most of the last fifty days of the year. Each chapter is focused on one assignment and comes with a pretty picture, a funny quote and if you’re lucky: A personal anecdote that inspired the chapter, or my personal take on the assignment.
PRICE Because I want as many people as possible to enjoy it, it costs only 5.50$ (4 euros), all of which will go to charity.
Payhip takes Paypal, but if you don’t have Paypal you can email me at info[a]theselfhelphipster.com; we’ll do it with a normal money transfer!
GOOD CAUSE I donate quite a bit of the proceeds of my ebook sales to charity at the end of each month, and 100% of the 50 Days Until 2015 Workbook is going to projects all over the world that positively impact the lives of young girls.
I donate a lot of my ebook profits to the Girl Effect projects all over the world and I want to do that for this ebook too. These projects are focused on offering girls more chances on education, better health care and a higher likelihood of success, and I’m all for that. Hope you are too.
EXTRA PLEA This is optional in all the ways, but IF you enjoy the ebook (which I hope you will!)? IF you feel that it’s worth more than just the 5$ (which I think it is!)? Would you PLEASE consider donating extra money to the Girl Effect projects for me?
You can donate directly to the Girl Effect fund that distributes the money evenly, or to projects of your choice, but you can also donate to me (button to the right) and write ‘Girl Effect’ on the note of the donation so I’ll know what it’s for, and I will add it up to the pile to donate at the end of the month.
I’m kind of hoping I can make some sort of whopping donation that buys a girl school supplies (OR ACTUAL SCHOOL) for an entire year.
As usual you can click here to buy it, or the button below. Have a wonderful Wednesday, and enjoy the ebook!!
EDIT: I recommend downloading it via computer! I made the PDF as small as possible but it is 47 MB to download!
When I did the Be Your Own Hero e-course in June, I knew I wanted to turn it into an e-book. Finally, after tons of editing, adding new material and the extremely helpful discovery of iBooks Author, I present to you….the Be Your Own Hero ebook.
This ebook is 38 pages of new and exclusive content, all written around the theme of Being Your Own Hero: With inspiring (hopefully) chapters, fun and insightful exercises, dipped into the Self Help Hipster type o’ writing.
Don’t just take my word for it, a testimonial from a reader who did the course was:
“With Be Your Own Hero Lianne challenges you to whip your own butt into shape, whatever that may mean for you.
I love her outtake on taking control of your own behavior and getting to notice your subconscious patterns so you can eventually break through them.
It is high quality content, written with a very personal and oftentimes hilarious note. I recommend this to anyone with a pulse, it is full of Universal truths and you can customize the course to your own needs. Also, if you find this important, it is a LOT of material for a VERY reasonable price. “
That means that when you purchase my ebook, you donate 7.50 USD or 6 euros to a good cause. (Not that I don’t think I’m a good cause too, but you know what I mean )
I ALSO know that a lot of my readers prefer the material that comes with a little more personal contact.* So I wanted to have this material come with an opportunity for that as well. If you want, you can buy this book + a 30 minute Skype Session**, in which I can maybe help you with some things you’re struggling with. Before we set up the date, I’ll send you an email with some questions and we can discuss those in the Skype session. This combination of book + coaching session is 40$. Half of the proceeds of this combo-deal will go to charity as well. So you’re basically donating a large sum to a good cause, and a not-so-large sum to buy a book and talk to a blogger. Good for you.
I’m super excited about this e-book because it’s such exclusive content, I wrote a really good Girl-Meets-Yoga-esque new chapter AND it looks TONS prettier than most of my previous ebooks thanks to iBooks Author.
Don’t hesitate, buy my new ebook and let me know what you think!
*They think I’m nice and helpful. Who knows where they got that idea.
**If you live around Rotterdam I’m not opposed to a 30 minute coffee date either, provided a) you’re not a psychopath and b) you’re buying.
SPEECH TIME Life handed me a pretty good deal.
That’s not a brag, it’s a truth. I have always had a roof over my head, food to eat, I grew up in a stable and supportive environment, and I have always had access to education and health care. I wish every girl could be so lucky. Every girl deserves to be this lucky.
My blog is doing pretty okay too, which is something I don’t talk about a lot but still am SUPER grateful for. I want to start giving back more. And I’m asking you guys to help me out with that.
SELF HELP STARTER PACK I called in my faithful proof-reader (love her) to read and edit all of the material I wrote for Self Help Summer School in 2012. Then I added, erased and rewrote parts, turning it into a Starter Pack for starting out with Self Helping, Self Help Hipster style.
The Self Help Starter Pack is a 71 pages long .PDF, 25 000 words worth of content. It contains a whole shitload of essays, lists, tips and exercises on the topics of general self help, health and food, and manifesting. About 30% of this material has been featured on the blog and you can see some of it here and here for a general feel of the material. The rest has never been published before.
I’ve made it available here for 6.00$, which converts to 4.40 euros.
But what’s my FAVORITE thing about this…is that ALL of the profits will go to charity Girl Effect.
GIRL EFFECT Girl Effect is an organization working to help girls around the world in terms of health care, economics, safety and most dear to my heart: Education. Education for girls globally is a cause that’s dear to me. I want to support that through my blog. You can see all Girl Effect’s different projects here.
So if you want to read some extra self help by yours truly and donate to charity in one go? Please go and click the button below. That rhymed. I can totally go into advertisement now. Anyway.
That’s it for today. Happy Sunday and happy reading. BYE!
I am going to transfer the money from this ebook* to Girl Effect’s projects every month. And as always, if you want to buy it and don’t have PayPal, shoot me an email on firstname.lastname@example.org. Obviously that money will go into my Paypal account first and then to Girl Effect with the rest of it.
*Which is going to be 6.00$ per Self Help Starter Pack, minus about .35$ that goes to Payhip.
Hi guys! I’m very much enjoying my Do-Nothing Challenge this weekend! So there is no extra challenge for you today either. Just relax. Enjoy the things and people around you.
However….If you want to read more written by yours truly, or if you want to create your own challenge in terms of habit change, that IS possible.
I’m happy to announce you can totallyy do that with…Habits, my new e-book! Thanks to stolen moments of writing and editing over the past weeks, a lot of coffee and my proofreaders Lea & Stine, it’s finally here.
It’s 43 pages long, almost 12 000 words, containing my most important and enlightening insights about habits and changing them, some important perspective shifts and some extra encouragement and exercises.
Sneak peek? Well, sure! Click here!
If you’re into that sort of thing, you can get it here for 5.50 USD, which is only 4 euros. Buy one Starbucks coffee less this week, get my little e-book and spend your Sunday evening (preferably somewhere warm and cosy.)
You can get it by clicking the big fancy button above or by clicking here. In case you DO want it but you DON’T have Paypal, not to worry: Send me an email. We’ll do it old-school-style, bank accounts and pleasantries and everything.
Regardless, I hope you’ve had a lovely weekend and have a wonderful Sunday night. New (actual) challenge again tomorrow!
Season’s greetings, beloved readers. Imagine me with a Santa’s hat for the purposes of this post. Or in an Oprah suit, although than this might turn into a bit of a letdown for you.
Because in the light of Christmas and sharing how you feel and what not, time for me to tell you I am really appreciative of you. I mean, you come here. On my website. To read my words. Holy shit. For a girl who only ever wanted to write that will always be a big deal. That is never going to get old for me. So I want to thank you all for that and tell you that I am happy that you’re all here, before I get into my whole give away thing.
As most of you know, the only thing I have to give away are my own words. Cue joke here about the weird English and out there niche I have gotten myself into. However, this time, the kind people at Blurb.com decided to help me out with that. Blurbz is an on-line publisher that offered me a voucher to either publish a book or give it away to my readers. Because I’m a two glasses
half full kind of girl, I decided to do both!
This Christmas, I am giving away one unique Printed Combi-Edition of Girl Meets Yoga and the Law of Attraction Lecture Notes. This is pretty special because I only printed 20 copies of Girl Meets Yoga and the Law of Attraction Lecture Notes haven’t been printed at all. Talk about a snowflake of a book!
All you have to do is tell me why you want to win it in the comments. No sharing or tweeting or Facebooking required. I’ll pick a winner on the 28th of December to get you that beautifully printed book as soon as possible.
Unfortunately, I can only pick one reader for the printed version (it really is time to start becoming more of a big deal so I can give more stuff away), but I’ll give away the Law of Attraction Lecture Pack to the two runners up too. Just ’cause.
Hope you have a lovely Saturday and sending happy vibes your way, who knows! Maybe even in print next week!
Saturday I did something I have always wanted to do. I mean, if the world is going to end in a few weeks, we might as well check off some items of our Before I Die Lists, non?
So I gave a workshop/lecture. An actual real one. About a topic that is dear to my heart and as natural to me as breathing: the Law of Attraction. Using it to help you, make you happier and attract the things you want into your life. Yes, it was a spur-of-the-moment decision to do it. Yes, it was in my own dining room. Yes, I did my own catering. 😉 But how cool was that these first eight people were willing to come to my house, sit at my dining room table with me to listen to me talk about something that I love. Answer, very.
I was a little nervous beforehand, but the moment people started ringing my doorbell I just started to feel excited: Ready to get going! I had a supergood time. The eight who attended were all so different yet everyone wanted to know more about this whole positive thinking Law of Attraction business. It was cool: Everyone brought their own perspective to the table. Great people and good group dynamics.
I talked about the Law of Attraction until my voice almost gave out, we discussed important details, issues and aspects of manifesting and there was a lot of fun interaction between everyone. We drank tea, green juice (some for the very first time ever!) and I had made raw chocolate and veggie platters to go round. (A. brought chocolate from Lof Der Zoetheid, so obviously he could do no more wrong after that).
What I loved most is that there was complete consensus they wanted to do this again in 6 months. A reunion/refresher/advanced class of sorts. I guess that’s a date then!
They also gave me some excellent feedback to use in the next workshops, I am going to come to Belgium for a repeat if there is enough request and I met some really cool new people. Not too shabby for one of the last Saturday the Mayans say we’re going to have.
I started to transcribe the Lecture Notes on Sunday morning, powered by tea, juice and two cups of coffee. Before I knew it I had almost 12 000 words worth of material on the Law of Attraction. Material that I loved. Material that I wanted to share with more people than just those 8, because I feel it can really help you and get things going!
…Which is why I decided to turn it into an on-line lecture package. Available now on my website & my e-junkie shop. Wanna take a look?
The Law of Attraction Pack includes:
- A PDF of almost 12 000 words, 27 pages, filled from top to bottom with great, useable and fun Law of Attraction information & practice. You can put it on your tablet, read it on your computer or print it out and snuggle upon the coach with a cup of tea to enjoy it!
You can buy the Law of Attraction Lecture Pack on-line now, for 5.50USD. I’ve chosen to use the American Dollars because there were quite some requests for this material from non-Dutchies and I don’t know, I feel it makes it more accesible to everyone from all over the world who reads my blog. Also, the conversion rate is awesome for most currencies. Good for you.
Now, is it weird for the author to tell you that you’ll be getting your money’s worth? It is? I don’t care. I’m telling you anyway. In fact, I’ll do you one better: I think this is the easiest, most practical and most fun thing about the Law of Attraction ever written. And I should know, because I’ve read pretty much everything I could get my hands on when it comes to the Law of Attraction. 😉
Now, for anyone who would still love to sign up for a Law of Attraction Workshop and be one of my dining room table buddies: More than welcome to reserve a spot already! Just send an email to email@example.com because I plan to do another one in January with only 8 spots (I feel like little groups are my thing for now).
Now don’t worry, it will be even more of a practicing and ‘workshopping’ kind of thing than this first one, so the material you buy now can only enhance our workshop together in the future!
Okay, it’s off to the real world again for me, for as that’s “a thing” in my life anyway. I’m working at the university and doing a lot of stuff in between too. By the way, got an iPhone (so pretty!) and am now an Instagrammer. It’s where you will see the personal ‘diary’ stuff I don’t really do on the website. If you like that type of thing, come follow me! Have a spectacular day and as I say in the Lecture Notes…Happy Manifesting!
One thing’s for sure: I’m setting a pretty high standard for my upcoming birthdays from this point forward. 😉
I did it. First e-book at 24. I wanted it to be clean, to the point and simple; I’m very happy with how it turned out. I promise the next one will be a lot more colorful and vivid but for a first e-book I’m very content. So without further ado…Meet my baby: Girl Meets Yoga.
Now to be clear: Girl Meets Yoga is not a how-to-do-yoga book. Girl Meets Yoga is not a book catered specifically or only to people who practice yoga: It’s for everyone. If you like this website, the book is probably your thing too. Girl Meets Yoga tells you about the 24 things I’ve learnt from and during my yoga practice and how they might help you too. It’s about 10 000 words long.
Curious?! Go read it! ‘Girl Meets Yoga’ is available for download here.
If you have any problems with the downloading, please let me know so I can fix it as soon as possible. You should be able to save and view the .PFD file on any e-reader, iPad and computer.
Pssst..If you’re bummed you didn’t win (aw!), you can send me an e-mail (firstname.lastname@example.org) and we can talk about you getting a hard copy anyway. I’m putting in a hard copy order for anyone who wants to have my first book in print. If you want to join the party, let me know!
As for the rest of my 24th birthday, I’m doing two yoga classes in the morning, after that I’m doing another very, very exciting thing (!!!) and then I’m going to have celebratory cupcakes with Lin.
But mostly, I’ll be enjoying my 24th birthday, due to the fact my first e-book is read. By all you wonderful people. I really really hope you like it, but I really enjoyed writing it and just knowing there are people out there who’ve taken the effort to read my work makes me really happy. Thank you so much. I hope you enjoy it.
Let’s rock & roll, 24. I’m ready.
