Happy Birthday To Me: E-Book Available!

One thing’s for sure: I’m setting a pretty high standard for my upcoming birthdays from this point forward. ๐Ÿ˜‰

I did it. First e-book at 24.ย I wanted it to be clean, to the point and simple; I’m very happy with how it turned out. I promise the next one will be a lot more colorful and vivid but for a first e-book I’m very content. So without further ado…Meet my baby: Girl Meets Yoga.

Now to be clear: Girl Meets Yoga isย notย a how-to-do-yoga book. Girl Meets Yoga is not a book catered specifically or only to people who practice yoga: It’s for everyone. If you like this website, the book is probably your thing too. Girl Meets Yoga tells you about the 24 things I’ve learnt from and during my yoga practice and how they might help you too. It’s about 10 000 words long.

Curious?! Go read it!ย ‘Girl Meets Yoga’ is available for downloadย here.

If you have any problems with the downloading, please let me know so I can fix it as soon as possible. You should be able to save and view the .PFD file on any e-reader, iPad and computer.

Now…for the winners of the hard copies:ย Carline, Suusieย &ย Elien. Expect an e-mail soon, lovelies!

Pssst..If you’re bummed you didn’t win (aw!), you can send me an e-mail (info@theselfhelphipster.com) and we can talk about you getting a hard copy anyway. I’m putting in a hard copy order for anyone who wants to have my first book in print. If you want to join the party, let me know!

As for the rest of my 24th birthday, I’m doing two yoga classes in the morning, after that I’m doing another very, very exciting thing (!!!) and then I’m going to have celebratory cupcakes with Lin.

But mostly, I’ll be enjoying my 24th birthday, due to the fact my first e-book is read. By all you wonderful people. I really really hope you like it, but I really enjoyed writing it and just knowing there are people out there who’ve taken the effort to read my work makes me really happy. Thank you so much. I hope you enjoy it.

Let’s rock & roll, 24. I’m ready.

  1. Happy birthday! Hope you’ll have a wonderfull day :). Gonna download the book right now (even though I am at work and I’m not sure if I’m allowed to do so.. living on the edge ;))

  2. <3 I'm sure you're ready. You sound so ready. Ready to be 24 and ready to do that very exciting thing today. ๐Ÿ˜‰

And I already texted you but yaaaaaaaay <33 I think this is almost the first time in my life that I've won something like this ๐Ÿ˜€ and this is something I really wanted.. so, thank you sweetie, thanks a lot.

  3. Gefeliciteerd! You rock!

  4. Happy Birthday!

I only read the first chapter (because actually I should be sitting on my bike on my way to college right now), but I’m loving it already! I know what I’ll be reading tonight!

Gaaf gaaf gaaf! En nog gefeliciteerd met je 24e verjaardag! Geniet ervan meid ๐Ÿ™‚

  7. I read your book just now, and: WOW! I loved it. I actually do want a hard copy, I’ll email you about it. Hope you have a lovely birthday, and a lovely year.

BTW, are you getting a tattoo? *curious*

  8. I haven’t read your e-book yet, it’s being downloaded as I’m typing you this message, I do however allready know I want a hardcopy!!

I’m so insanely proud of you for reaching this goal you set out for yourself, eventhough you, I and the entire universe knows this was in the cards for you either way.

Enjoy your day, and your super exciting thing and all the cupcakes you and Lin can gulp down in one sitting and then take a couple more to take back to your place:D ๐Ÿ˜› !!

Love you and can’t wait to see the result of the super exciting thing when I see you again!!

    XOX.

  9. Hoi,

  12. Happy birthday you lovely specimen of womankind, you!

I know this is going to sound weird, but i am proud of you.
I wish I could’ve been only half as awesome and accomplished at your age…
But I guess everyone moves at their own pace.
I am curious about your tattoo.
Also, you’re very pretty. and I know that shouldn’t matter, and it doesn’t make you less of a cool and driven and original person but…it’s kind of a major weakness of mine. I always look at these accomplished people ( accomplished in a way that I admire, obviously) and for some reason they are always extraordinarily gorgeous. Something I am absolutely not. So although I want to think that i don’t have to be in order to achieve something worthwhile, it does seem to be too much of a general rule to only be a mere coincidence.
    Anywhoooo sorry for my jibber-jabber.
Hope you’re having an amazing night! am going to start reading your book now!
    So excited, yay!
    Sweet dreams for later!

    1. I believe that EVERYONE is beautiful, but some people decide not to see it. They try to hide their beauty. Don’t be afraid of your beauty! If you are confident about yourself and you like what you see in the mirror, you will send a signal to other people. I don’t know why, but for me it really works that way. When I’m happy, I get more compliments. When I’m feeling sad and I don’t want to be noticed, it’s like people don’t notice me anymore.
I guess that in orde to be succesfull, you have to believe in yourself and you have to be confident. And those believes in yourself make you more beautiful.
Anyway, don’t take this is criticism. I know that you didn’t ask for my help, but I just wanted to say this. I guess it kinda breaks my heart when I hear (or see) people say (or write) that they don’t think they’re beautiful. ‘Cause everyone is beautiful!

      1. Could not have said it better myself. <3 It really comes from within. I'll dedicate a blog post to this later this week.

    2. Thank you so much. I don’t really think of myself as accomplished (but I do think I’m awesome ๐Ÿ˜‰ ) but I don’t think of myself as extraordinarily gorgeous (but those two of the most beautiful words in the English language, so I do love the phrase) but I do think you think of me as extraordinarily gorgeous more of everything I do than really how I look. I’ll try to write an article about this to explain it better, I have to gather my thoughts about it first though. Glad you loved the book too!

  13. I’ve just downloaded your book, but I’m not really an E-book reader. Your book looks really good and I can’t wait to read it, but I would really like to have a hard copy!
Also, I wish you an happy birthday! I hope you have a wonderful day

    1. E-mail me and I’ll order you one – they won’t be very expensive (around 10/11 euros) AND I’ll sign it for you!

  14. First of all: Happy birthday! I hope you had a lovely day and that everything is just as awesome as you want it to be!
Second of all: Congratulations (again) for your first (e-)book, I think it’s really great that you were brave enough to do what you love and to publish an e-book. And that now other people can enjoy your writing!
Third of all: Yay! Awesome! I just did a happy dance over here ๐Ÿ™‚ I’m so honoured to get a copy of your first book! I’ve loved your writings ever since I first started following DDG and I’ve continued to love reading what you write, whether it’s personal, inspirational or a bit of everything at the same time.
    You’re awesome.

    1. I was very happy to see you had won too, I know you’ve been with me for a very long time and I love that I get to give you something back for that. Hope all is well with you! XO

      1. That’s so sweet of you!
Everything’s fine over here and it seems that you’re doing well too, which I’m very happy about ๐Ÿ™‚

  15. Just wanted to say happy belated birthday. Loved the book and thanks so much because thanks to it I’ve finally hit my yoga studio again yesterday after 3 months of finding excuses and psyching myself out. Merci!
